Masterclasses From US Olympic Triallist
Over the last few months, former US Olympic triallist David Wren has been holding a series of masterclasses at Monnow Swimming Club.
David gave his expert advice on the four strokes, starts, turns and relay techniques. Coaches and swimmers watched as David demonstrated his proficiency in the water, learning new drills and skills.Over thirty children from Squads 1-4 participated in each of the six 45 minute sessions.
“This will definitely help us to get better times at club competitions”, said Richard Sparkes, Monnow chairman.”We are very grateful to David for giving his time to support the club.”
Richard presented David with a Monnow club polo shirt on behalf of the club after a starts and turns clinic last Sunday.
David will return to the US after teaching at Monmouth School for the past year. He will continue to coach swimming while he secures a new job in sales and marketing.
